Princess Beauty Treatment

I am often told that I am a princess when the topic of my beauty routine comes up. Luckily, I am also told that I have nice skin and hair, and then I am asked how I manage it, to which I answer that I invest the time and money to ensure that I care for my skin properly. I still find imperfections in my skin because that is how I am, but overall I am happy with it and though I have a love/hate relationship with my hair, we get on rather well most of the time.

I know we all have different levels of interest in this sort of thing, as well as different sets of priorities when it comes to the money we spend. Most of all, I know we all have unique genetics and hormonal cycles that affect our skin and hair. That being said, I will provide a complete list of my beauty products. I will also present various treatments by which I swear. And believe me. I have tried MANY products and MANY treatments. Studied them. Examined them. Experimented. Even made my own products! Yes from scratch!

So here it goes.

P.S.: Feel free to contact me directly for any details about this post. Also, if you are looking for alternatives to these products, or if you are inquiring about making your own cosmetics, ask away! Like I said, we all go about choosing our beauty products differently, so please don’t be shy to ask. This is what works for me the most, but I have tried and recommended several different products to people that work better for them.

  1. Face Products
  • Doux Visage Facial Cleanser by Phythomer (Daily)
  • Gommage Marin by Phythomer (1-2 times per week)
  • Oligopur Flawless Skin Mask (As needed. Usually after PMS because that’s when my skin does get a bit fussy)
  • Souffle Marin by Phythomer (1-2 times per week-after Gommage)
  • Hydra Originel by Phythomer (daily-Automn and Winter)
  • CityLife by Phythomer (daily-Spring and Summer) – also an eye cream

Treatment for your face:

I use the scrub once or twice a week because the action of leaving the product on not only kills the dead skin but hydrates deeply. Once I have waited about 10 minutes, I gently scrub the products and remove any black heads, dead skin cells, and my skin is so radiant and hydrated after. I then apply the Souffle Marin which not only smells magical but it lets my skin breath. It’s a gentle oxygenating serum. As a last step I apply my face cream which keeps my skin soft and hydrated all day, no matter the weather.

Other treatment for your face:

  •  Honey, Coconut, and Oat Milk, Scrub.

Take some very fine salt because it is more gentle and will not irritate your face. You can use soft brown sugar if you have very sensitive skin but then add a bit of finely ground salt because the ions work wonders for your skin. Equally, bicarbonate of soda has strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties worth taking advantage of. Then mix in some whole fat milk, oat milk, natural coconut oil/milk, and natural honey. The fats of the milk and coconut oil along with the enzymes of the honey will nourish your skin, promoting the production of collagen, which is related to the elasticity of your skin and how it regenerates. It will also sooth and hydrate. This combination of ingredients work for me because they eliminate impurities whilst fortifying my skin and leaving it silky, and glowing. I personally use Oat Milk because it helps to soothe my skin’s sensitivity. I combine it with natural Coconut Oil and Honey, which work brilliantly together. I make my salt particles as fine as I can with a mortar and pestle, especially on my face. I also make sure to have a lower concentration of salt in my face scrub.

I have drier skin so I need a lot of nourishment to make sure my skin keeps its elasticity and heals from atmospheric damage or even lines caused by stress, or small scars from the odd hormonal spot. I do get blackheads, whiteheads, and my pores tend to be more dilated. The honey, the salt, and the bicarbonate of soda (if you are more prone to blemishes) are important for treating these symptoms. All in all, you get a balanced treatment. I leave it on for some time, then gently scrub.  During this time I also put cucumbers on my eyes which helps with eye puffiness. This cucumber thing can be done daily though or as needed depending on the state of my eyes.

*Between scrub treatments I use the Renaissance Glove on my skin for exfoliation. I swear by it and have never used another that works as well as this one.

2. Body Products

  • Oligomer Sensation Bien-Être Body Wash (daily)
  • Oleocreme Body Milk (daily)
  • Oligomer Well-Being Body Cream (daily or when skin is more dry) – I get very dry skin on my legs in the Winter for example. I’ll usually use it on my legs more than anywhere else. It’s perfect for making sure they stay hydrated and healthy.

*Beauty Tip: Massage your legs whilst applying the lotion as it helps with making sure your blood is circulating properly. Especially if you spend long hours on your feet all day, it’s important to make sure you care for them and your legs before bed.

Treatment for your body:

  • Honey, Coconut, and Oat Milk, Sea Salt Scrub.

Same as above but with more salt to make it more concentrated. I always make my body scrub thicker and more concentrated because the results are better and it removes the dead skin way more easily.

  • Milk and Oats Soak

Mix colloidal oatmeal and milk to make a paste that you can leave on your skin for a while. I usually do this in the colder months as my skin get dry and sometimes itchy. You can also just put the oats into your bath whilst you soak. Aveeno offers this time of treatment. Otherwise, I lot of natural health shops will.

*Between scrub treatments I use the Renaissance Glove on my skin for exfoliation. I swear by it and have never used another that works as well as this one.

** Lastly, try to find spas that offer Phythomer products and treatments near you. From facial treatments to body wraps, they have everything you need for the best princess beauty secrets!

3. Hair Products

  • Kerastase Cristalliste Shampoo
  • L’Oreal Professional TechniArt Hollywood Waves – Waves Fatal – Gel Cream
  • L’Oreal Professional TechniArt Hollywood Waves – Siren Waves – Cream
  • L’Oreal Professional TechniArt Hollywood Waves – Sweetheart Curls – Spray Serum

Treatment for your hair:

Once or twice a week, make sure you moisturise your hair.

I use Moroccanoil Oil in my hair after I wash it. I do this about once a week. Another thing I like to do is make the blend I mentioned above (but without the salt, sugar, or bicarbonate of soda), add beaten eggs and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. This is a great home remedy for treating your hair, especially in the winter. Be sure to rinse thoroughly. Also, I know several people who use natural coconut oil in their hair instead of conditioner.

4. Make-up

I don’t wear make up very often at all but I used to really be into it and when I do wear it, I take it very seriously ha! So here it is…

  • Dior‘s Diorshow Iconic Mascara (all year round)
  • Lancome Matte Eye Concealer (all year round)
  • Benefit‘s Hoola Lite Bronzer (Summer mostly just because I personally feel silly bronzing my face when I am so pale in the winter…)
  • Benefit‘s Sugar Bomb Blush by Benefit  (All year round as it has blush, bronzer, and highlighting properties)
  • Smashbox Photofinish Radiance Primer (I use it as a highlighter)
  • Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Tint-in-Balm
  • Nars Dolce Vita Lipstick (they have the best lipsticks. The perfect texture and colour for my lips!)
  • Anything to do with eyeshadows and eye-liners is by Make Up Forever or Mac Cosmetics
  • Anything to do with make up extras like leg shining buffs, eye contour, eye brow kits, highlighters, etc. is by Benefit Cosmetics

Again, please note that this is what works best for me. Everyone is different! I am just finally writing it all down for those who wanted to know, and for those who want to try new things, which is so exciting! Experimenting with different beauty secrets is one of my favourite hobbies!

Lastly, don’t forget that some of the best things for our skin are natural. The sun (in moderation), the seas, oceans, and the earth offer the best treatments for our skin and hair. Most of which are in the products I use in some way or another. Of course, drinks lots of water and adopt a balanced and healthy diet and lifestyle!! I cannot stress enough how important those things are for your skin. Vegetables, fruits, superfoods, teas, smoothies, and anything to boost your vitamin, mineral, electrolytes, and anti-oxidant intake. oh, and exercise, exercise, exercise. Always.

Happy living all!

Write soon,
